ASRH Desk Review: Influences on Adolescent Pregnancy and Childbearing

The report aims to understand the drivers and mitigating factors of risks and vulnerabilities that lead to unintended pregnancy and childbirth among adolescent girls in Kenya's arid and semi-arid lands (ASAL) region. The report explores the individual, interpersonal, community, and structural influences that shape adolescent pregnancy and childbearing, including reproductive health needs, vulnerabilities, and protective assets. It also examines the impact of household shocks, stresses, and seasonality on sexual behavior and reproductive health outcomes among adolescents. The report provides recommendations for reducing vulnerabilities and improving reproductive health outcomes for adolescents in the ASAL region.
