Abstract
The project aimed to equip practitioners with refined and pilot-tested data collection tools to inform the design and implementation of market-based interventions within food systems to support healthy diets. The poster outlines the research methodology, assessment questions, and key findings, including the development of a set of seven food environment assessments that capture data on key dimensions of food environments, such as accessibility, availability, price, product and vendor properties, affordability, marketing, and regulation. The research highlights the importance of understanding food environments in LMICs to support food systems policy and programming approaches to improve the affordability, availability, and desirability of safe, nutritious food.
