Abstract
The study analyzed data from 21 datasets across 10 countries and examined the relationships between different food consumption indicators, including the Coping Strategies Index (CSI), the Food Consumption Score (FCS), the Household Dietary Diversity Score (HDDS), and the Household Hunger Score (HHS). The study found that the indicators are not strongly correlated and that context influences the relationships between them. The study proposes changes to the thresholds used in the acute IPC household reference table to improve the concordance of the indicators. The study also highlights the importance of using a convergence of evidence approach and considering contextual factors when classifying acute food insecurity.
