Abstract
The presentation is based on a qualitative study conducted in Zinder and Maradi, Niger, and was prepared for the 22nd IUNS-ICN International Congress of Nutrition in Tokyo, Japan, December 6-11, 2022. The study aimed to identify the factors that support or inhibit access and adherence to iron-folic acid supplementation, vitamin A supplementation, and the consumption of iron and vitamin A-rich foods. The presentation highlights the results of the study, including the barriers and facilitators to supplementation and dietary intake, and provides insights into the social and cultural norms that influence dietary practices in Niger.
