Abstract
It presents a model in PROFILES, a tool used for country-level nutrition advocacy, to estimate the benefits of improved nutrition, including lives saved, disabilities averted, human capital gains, and economic productivity gains. The brief explains why early initiation of breastfeeding is crucial in reducing malnutrition and mortality, highlighting the benefits of breastfeeding, such as saving lives, reducing morbidity and mortality from diarrhea and respiratory infections, and promoting higher intelligence and economic productivity.
