Learning with Care Groups through Participatory Research in Malawi

The research aimed to improve the quality of peer support groups, specifically care groups, through a participatory and user-centered design process. The project involved care group participants, stakeholders, and community leaders in the design and testing of local solutions to address challenges faced by care groups. The document outlines the research approach, methodology, and findings, including the development of prototypes and tools to support care group quality, such as a simple job aid for facilitation skills, a look-and-learn guide for care group leaders, and a community leader's aid for supporting care group quality. The document also highlights key learnings and recommendations for the Akule ndi Thanzi program and other stakeholders working with care groups in Malawi.
