Abstract
The authors argue that understanding resilience requires considering not only tangible factors such as assets and social capital but also less tangible, such as risk perception, self-efficacy, and individual aspirations. The article proposes a conceptualization of subjective resilience and tests it using empirical data, highlighting the central role of psychosocial factors and individual perceptions in people's construct of resilience.
