The document is a case study on the success of delivering interventions to reduce maternal anemia in Nepal.
2011

Abstract
It describes the development, design, and implementation of the Iron Intensification Program (IIP), which was launched in 2004 and scaled up to cover 70 districts by 2009. The program involved female community health volunteers (FCHVs) in delivering iron-folic acid supplements, deworming medicine, and counseling to pregnant women. The study highlights the program's achievements, including increased coverage of interventions, reduction in maternal anemia, and a decrease in maternal mortality ratio. The report also discusses the lessons learned and the usefulness of the program model for translation to other countries.
