This document is a case study on rethinking integrated nutrition-health strategies to address micronutrient deficiencies in children under five in Mozambique.
2018

Abstract
The study provides program considerations for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating vitamin A and iron deficiency interventions. It highlights the importance of addressing micronutrient deficiencies, which affect nearly 70% of children under five in Mozambique, and discusses various strategies, including vitamin A supplementation, micronutrient powders, and food-based approaches. The study also emphasizes the need for a national strategy for the prevention and control of micronutrient malnutrition and ongoing monitoring of micronutrient deficiencies and intervention coverage.
