Abstract
It was published in September 2017 by USAID and SPRING. The brief highlights the widespread public health problem of anemia, which affects millions of people worldwide, particularly in Africa and Asia. It presents six key actions to address anemia, including generating evidence and acting on it, engaging stakeholders and building commitment, establishing a structure for coordination and collaboration, developing a working strategy, planning and implementing at subnational levels, and training service providers. The brief also shares country experiences and lessons learned from Ghana, Kyrgyz Republic, Nepal, Sierra Leone, and Uganda, and provides guidance tools to support countries in their efforts to reduce anemia.
