Abstract
The article discusses the results of four randomized trials in Malawi, Ghana, and Bangladesh that examined the impact of providing lipid-based nutrient supplements (LNSs) to women during pregnancy and postpartum and/or to their children on household food insecurity. The study found that providing LNSs to mothers and their children throughout the first 1000 days may improve household food security in some settings.
