Abstract
The report explores the systemic and social dynamics that drive persistent acute malnutrition in Isiolo and Marsabit counties of Northern Kenya's arid and semi-arid lands. The report is based on a study that included in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews in Isiolo and Marsabit counties. The report presents the study's methodology, key findings, thematic nutrition implications, and key recommendations. The findings highlight the effects of gender roles, time use, and workload on acute malnutrition, as well as the impact of socio-cultural norms, beliefs, and practices on acute malnutrition.
