Activites paysannes phase II proposal : Dire, sixth region, Mali, West Africa

The implementing agency, Africare, will: (1) design baseline studies in technology, sociology, economics, and marketing, as well as training programs for farmers, mechanics, and Farmers Association managers; (2) establish a production credit program; and (3) test small pumps appropriate for the Sixth Region and establish a machine shop for pump maintenance. Proposal of 2/84 requests that the project be extended by 1 year in order to study the Sixth Region"s productive potential and to solidify the institutional infrastructure required to meet the needs of the Association of pump farmers.
