Abstract
This report describes A.I.D. efforts to implement the Initiative in 20 countries as well as to support private sector development throughout the region. Ongoing and planned projects, grouped by implementing office and by country, are individually described. They include, inter alia, projects to: promote exports and overseas investment, as well as policies favoring these; encourage the development of agricultural marketing systems; support the development of small businesses and of public and private sector business institutions; provide capital market development assistance; conduct training programs for private sector personnel; and assist in the process of technology transfer.
