Abstract
There is also a serious shortage of marketing credit. The recommendations call for more credit for small farmers for transport, storage, and operating capital to increase their productivity and income and to enable them to compete with large traders. Therefore, viable credit programs need to be established using alternative approaches such as farmer groups. Also, existing institutions should be strengthened to provide credit, market information, and other market support for a better overall marketing system. (Author abstract, from PN-ABQ-372)
