AID cooperative agreement no. 686-0276-A-00-9047-00 with Center for PVO/University Collaboration in Development, Western Carolina University for a pilot natural resource management activity in Burkina Faso

The project will be implemented by members of the Center, an umbrella organization of 18 PVO"s and 16 universities, in cooperation with Burkinabe PVO"s, government agencies, private technical schools and research institutes, and the University of Ouagadougou. The project will establish subprojects in selected areas of Burkina Faso to explore and document various approaches to village participation in NRM. In addition, it will: (1) strengthen the capacity of Burkinabe institutions to meet the needs of development organizations that are conducting NRM projects; and (2) develop a system for providing TA and training by U.S. university consultants, in partnership with Burkinabe consultants, to U.S. and local PVO"s conducting NRM activities in Burkina Faso.
