Grant is provided to the American Council for Voluntary International Action, also known as InterAction, to form a Global Alliance of PVOs and other groups to educate the American public and opinion leaders on the importance of U.S.

Abstract
development and humanitarian assistance activities. InterAction is a coalition of 143 U.S. PVOs dedicated to international humanitarian assistance. By uniting PVOs under one strategic umbrella, and then expanding to include other domestic and international PVOs, corporations, foundations, and NGOs, the Alliance will create a groundswell of support for development and humanitarian programs. InterAction has identified three critical megatrends about which to inform the U.S. public: civil society blossoming, the U.S. turning inward, and the environment/population/poverty nexus. To this end, the Alliance will: conduct qualitative audience research; create a unified public education program (including a name, logo, and theme line); conduct an ongoing media relations program, to include a major kickoff event and annual special events; target four markets for intensive public education; create a speakers" bureau; and provide TA and training to its members.
