Grant is provided to Trust for Christian Outreach and Education to partially finance the extraordinary costs of students at the University of the Western Cape which arose during the 1988 academic year as a result of protests against the South African government"s attempts to defeat the University"s policies supporting multiracial admissions.

Abstract
A total of 158 poor students from the Eastern Cape, half of whom are women, are in need of assistance. This emergency grant will be retroactive to January 1988.
