AID grant no. PDC-0091-G-00-1114-00 to the Agribusiness Council, Inc. in support of a program to build and strengthen an emerging global network of agribusiness trade associations

agribusiness trade associations with those in middle-income countries; the Council will work in partnership with the Agro-Energy Roundtable (AER). The program is expected to (1) encourage more participation by private agribusiness in A.I.D. initiatives; (2) support market-oriented agribusiness growth in middle-income countries; (3) develop a forum for cross-sectoral policy dialogue on privatization and structural reforms in the agricultural sector; (4) provide U.S. expertise to support Mission agribusiness strategies and the formation of local agribusiness associations; and (5) provide A.I.D. with a clearinghouse and focal point for resources on agribusiness and agricultural cooperatives, and eventually pilot projects of the type that A.I.D. might otherwise find too risky to undertake.
