Miller, F. DeWolfe · 1981

Abstract
After a summary of the study"s findings and recommendations, individual chapters: (1) examine environmental health conditions in rural Egypt and the need for population-based data; (2) tabulate and assess the frequencies of three types of variables - environmental (water supply, drainage of domestic wastewater, excreta disposal, housing, community aspects), demographic (age and sex, occupation, education and literacy) and dependent (the presence of one or more parasitic infections and height and weight); (3) test relationships among the different study variables; (4) present the results of an analyis of over 100 independent variables and of the dependent variables; and (5) delineate the characteristics of a home at high health risk. Specific recommendations include programs to improve tubewells, latrines, household water jars, and housing availability. Included are 33 tables, 11 figures, and a 12-page bibliography (1910-81).
