This bibliography includes 1,341 annotated citations covering: draft animals in farming systems around the world; research and development activities; economic studies of animal traction; social implications of animal traction; draft animal management and training, health and husbandry, breeding, and nutrition and feeding; use of female draft animals; physiology of work and energy expenditure; power output and draft forces; harnessing systems and yokes; transport and packing; implements and equipment; field operations; water-raising systems and animal-powered gears; and animal power in forestry. Publications cited represent a long time span, with some dating as far back as the 1930"s.
