Annual Plan for Revisions to the FEWS NET Website

The Hub captures, documents, and shares the wealth of FEWS NET analytical products, methodologies, and learning through three technical workstreams: the Data Management Platform (DMP), the Website Platform, and the Knowledge and Learning Workstream. The FEWS NET website is the primary digital platform used by FEWS NET to share early warning analyses, data, maps, and graphics with team members across the FEWS NET Project, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureaus and Missions, food insecurity and climate researchers, and the global humanitarian community. The website contains more than 17,000 documents, covering nearly 30 countries, and dating back to 1995. During Implementation Year 3 (IY3), the Hub will continue to manage and maintain the fews.net website, lending its website management responsibilities through regular maintenance, compliance, and performance functions. The Hub will prioritize system upgrades and cross-team coordination, including monitoring and prioritizing Drupal security updates, and implementing a helpdesk ticket system to organize ad hoc requests. The Hub will continue to apply an Agile methodology to manage the IY3 work plan, ensuring that the fews.net website responds to the changing needs of the FEWS NET project. The Hub will also continue to implement a helpdesk ticket system to organize all technical activities, including ad hoc and special requests that may require developer time to execute and test. The Hub's work plan for IY3 is structured into four primary sections: Manage, Maintain, and Improve the Web Platform; System Security and Integrity Enhancements; Coordinate Platform Support Across Teams; and Manage Special Requests through Helpdesk Tickets. The Hub will continue to work closely with the Early Warning team to ensure that the fews.net website meets the needs of the FEWS NET project. The Hub's work plan for IY3 is designed to ensure that the fews.net website remains a critical component of the FEWS NET project, providing timely and accurate information to support decision-making. The Hub will continue to prioritize system upgrades and cross-team coordination to ensure that the website remains secure and functional.
