The objective of this paper is to evaluate the performances of the State Bank of India: In mobilizing deposits, and supply of loanable funds; in extending banking facilities in general and to semi-urban and rural areas in particular; in supporting the development of cooperative institutions; in distributing credit in accordance with the following national policy goals; (a) assisting small industry; (b) assisting agricultural development; (c) aiding export industries; and (d) aiding small business; and finally, its operating efficiency.
