USAID. OFC. OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL. REGIONAL INSPECTOR GENERAL FOR AUDIT. NAIROBI
Audits activities in Zimbabwe of a regional project to demonstrate that sustainable use and management of wildlife is a viable economic strategy.
1995

Abstract
Audit report covers the period 8/89-11/95. USAID/Zimbabwe and grantees have spent about $5 million to support the project"s objectives, including purchases of an airplane, a helicopter, vehicles, computers, and game capture and relocation equipment. The Mission did not adopt quantifiable indicators under Phase I of the project, but it did for Phase II. The Mission also adopted indicators to measure the achievement of the project-related program outcome under its Assessment of Program Impact (API). However, it did not have documentation to fully support the baseline and actual results data for the two indicators reported in the API. Finally, the Mission did not always ensure that project commodities were properly accounted for and used as intended. (Author abstract, modified)
