Abstract
The assessment includes (1) an overview of natural resource management in Botswana and the environmental factors that influence that management, (2) a discussion of legislative and institutional structures in Botswana that affect biodiversity, (3) a summary of the status of natural resource management in the country, (4) an analysis of major threats to biodiversity conservation in Botswana, and (5) proposed actions and recommendations for USAID planning, including how proposed activities in the operational plan for USAID assistance could contribute to conservation needs.
