1984
Abstract
corporate community and public institutions. The gifts will be used in education, health, and development programs. The BBF will survey concerned Jamaican organizations and individuals to learn their needs and will then approach potential U.S. donors based on the priority needs of Jamaican organizations that have demonstrated the capability to handle donated goods. Past beneficiary institutions have included the Jamaica-America Medical Assistance Committee, the Jamaica Library Service, and the Human Employment and Resource Training Trust. The BBF, however, is willing to extend its network of recipients through the Jamaica Council on Voluntary Social Services (CVSS) and also to receive commodity requests from USAID/J. It is expected that Jamaican nonprofit private institutions or public organizations not involved in defense or civil security will receive $3.5 million in materials and goods from the U.S. corporate community for use in education, health, and development programs.
