This report surveys the status as of early August 1993 of developments in the Republic of Armenia related to (1) the establishment of a greater range of private property rights and a system for recognizing who possesses rights to specific parcels of immovable property; (2) privatization programs; (3) the operations of open markets for immovable property; and (4) instituting taxes on the value of land and buildings.
