Packard, Jack · 1970

Abstract
CARE will be the principal implementing agency. The project will construct 30 hand-dug wells in 30 villages in the Bore, Boni, and central arrondissement of the Douentza Cercle. Each well will be furnished with a drinking trough for livestock. All construction materials and non-specialized labor will be supplied by the beneficiaries. Villages will also contribute cash inputs on a per meter basis, based on ability to pay. The wells are expected to increase water quantity, dependability, and accessibility by 50%. To ensure sustainability, the project will conduct 4-day training sessions on well repair and maintenance for 60 villagers.
