USAID. BUR. FOR LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN. OFC. OF DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES
Provides loan completion report (2/23/73-4/17/80) on a project to enable the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) to continue its Special Development Fund (SDF) lending activities to CDB member states.
1980
Abstract
This was the second of two loans providing A.I.D. financing for the SDF. The two loans accounted for 28% of contributions to the SDF and enabled the CDB to meet its projected lending targets for priority development activities in LDC"s. A total of 42 subprojects in 10 Caribbean countries were funded, covering such areas as agricultural and industrial credit and infrastructural development. Of the 42 subprojects, 32 have been successfully completed, and the remaining 10 transferred to other AID-funded programs. CDB is expected to continue to emphasize financing of projects through the SDF, and additional A.I.D. assistance may be required in this area. However, at the present time other A.I.D. programs are available as sources of funding for similar programs.
