Consultant report and modules on care of women during pregnancy and care of women and new borns during labor and immediately after delivery
As a result of a training needs assessment in the Integrated Rural Health and Population Project in India, eight training modules were prepared for health guides and for trained dais (traditional midwives), as well as for orientation training of primary health center medical officers and inservice trainers.

Abstract
Two modules are presented herein. The first concerns care of women and newborns during labor and immediately after delivery and is designed to teach midwifery to dais. The second module on prenatal care is designed for dais and female health guides. The modules are divided into units and lessons, with specification of objectives and teaching methods.
