Demographic projection model for microcomputers; IBM, PC and Apple II version

The Futures Group has developed a full-featured demographic projection program given which any user with an understanding of basic demographic principles and the operation of a microcomputer can manipulate and analyze demographic data.

Abstract

This manual provides step by step guidance to enable the user of the Demographic Projection Model to: enter, examine, modify, and store the demographic assumptions of fertility, mortality, and migration for a country; calculate, store, and display 50-year projections of total population, births, deaths, etc.; and create population files that are compatible with other microcomputer models (such as RAPID). Two versions of the program are available: one for the IBM PC and compatible machines, the other for Apple II microcomputers.
