Abstract
THE GOM SECRETARIAT OF STATE FOR TRAINING OF CADRES WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SELECTING THE TRAINEES; CANDIDATES WILL BE PERSONNEL PARTICIPATING OR EXPECTING TO PARTICIPATE IN ON-GOING OR PLANNED DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS. A TOTAL OF 220 PERSONNEL WILL PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM. ONE-HUNDRED-FORTY WILL RECEIVE LONG-TERM (1-2 YEAR) GRADUATE-LEVEL TRAINING AT PRINCIPALLY US UNIVERSITIES, ALTHOUGH QUALIFIED THIRD COUNTRY OR MOROCCAN INSTITUTIONS WILL BE UTILIZED WHENEVER POSSIBLE. THE REMAINING 80 TRAINEES WILL RECEIVE INTENSIVE, SHORT-TERM TRAINING THROUGH COURSES AND TRAINING VISITS TO US, THIRD COUNTRY, OR MOROCCAN INSTITUTIONS, OR IN-SERVICE TRAINING ACTIVITIES. THE TRAINING THAT EACH PARTICIPANT RECEIVES WILL BE SPECIFICALLY TAILORED TO HIS/HER PARTICULAR NEEDS. TRAINING WILL GENERALLY BE IN THE AREAS OF PLANNING, MANAGEMENT, BUDGET AND FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION, AND IN VARIOUS TECHNICAL DISCIPLINES. THE AS-NEEDED SERVICES OF APPROXIMATELY EIGHT CONSULTANTS WILL ALSO BE FUNDED BY GRANT TO ASSIST VARIOUS LOCAL INSTITUTIONS WITH ANALYSIS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROJECT-PERTINENT, SPECIALTY TRAINING PROGRAMS.
