Abstract
The training programs emphasized the use of composting and crop rotation methods, which were adopted by a significant proportion of participants. This finding suggests that women may be more receptive to new agricultural practices, potentially due to their greater involvement in household food production and preparation. The initiative's focus on sustainable agriculture practices also had a positive impact on the environment, with reduced soil erosion and improved soil fertility. The results of the initiative demonstrate the potential for sustainable agriculture practices to improve agricultural productivity and improve the livelihoods of small-scale farmers in Eastern Province, Rwanda. The initiative's success can be attributed to the combination of farmer training, infrastructure development, and market linkage facilitation. The training programs provided farmers with the knowledge and skills necessary to adopt sustainable agriculture practices, while the infrastructure development helped to improve access to markets and inputs. The market linkage facilitation helped to connect farmers with buyers, increasing their income and improving their livelihoods.
