Abstract
The initiative's geographic focus was on Eastern Province, where the majority of Rwanda's agricultural production takes place. The program's timeframes were set for a three-year period, with the first year dedicated to training and infrastructure development, the second year focused on market linkage facilitation, and the third year on monitoring and evaluation. The recommendations from the midterm evaluation highlighted the need for continued support to farmers, particularly in areas where irrigation techniques were not adopted due to equipment costs. The program's impact was also measured in terms of its contribution to Rwanda's national development goals. The initiative's success in improving food security and increasing household income was seen as a critical step towards achieving Rwanda's Vision 2050, which aims to transform the country into a middle-income economy by 2050. The program's lessons learned and best practices were also shared with other stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners, to promote the adoption of sustainable agriculture practices across the country.
