Egypt safaga grain silo complex

The Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Supply will implement the project, with a U.S. turnkey contractor bearing primary operational responsibility. The complex will include two 600 MT ship unloaders capable of serving vessels as large as 75,000 MT, a conveyor system able to offload 1,200 MT of grain per hour, and a 100,000 MT storage facility consisting of 64 concrete bins. Two truck bulk loading spouts and one rail bulk loading spout are planned, and 20 bagging stations will be erected. U.S. consulting engineer services and a full turnkey construction services contract will be funded; Egyptian firms will be subcontracted. Provisions for ease of operation and maintenance, as well as a maintenance and repair training program, will be included.
