Abstract
The study found a strong positive association between obesity and hypertension in adult men and women in Uzbekistan"The shape of the relationship between BMI and hypertension is different for women than for men"A lack of association with physical activity level and generally weak, inconsistent associations with diet, current smoking, and alcohol use may be partly because some men and women may have altered their behavior after becoming obese or after being diagnosed with hypertension"Prospective cohort studies are needed to better understand the relationships between physical activity, diet, smoking, and risks of obesity and hypertension.
