Paper presents an alternative conceptual model for evaluation techniques to be used in the Panama Nutrition Evaluation project.

Abstract

The model, based on Donabedian"s medical care evaluation approach, permits evaluation of a program in three different areas - structure, process, and outcome. Thus it permits the evaluation of inputs, the production process, and outcomes. Typically, nutrition evaluation systems assess only process and outcome.
