USAID. MISSION TO TUNISIA
Evaluates project to expand family planning (FP) service delivery in Tunisia, especially in rural areas.
Getson, Alan V. · 1970
Abstract
PES covers the period 1/78-2/80 and consists of a facesheet based on an unattached evaluation. Growth in the number of FP acceptors has leveled off, primarily due to a lack of services in rural Tunisia. To expand and modify FP services in order to increase coverage in rural areas, the Government of Tunisia should: (1) strengthen national policy and program development; (2) improve program monitoring, research, and evaluation; (3) develop a new FP delivery strategy for rural areas; and (4) redesign and expand information, education, and communication activities. USAID/T and AID/W have decided to provide $9.0 million to Tunisia"s FP program during the period 1982-84, channeled through AID-financed intermediaries.
