Abstract
CHAPTERS COVER: THE DOUBLE PURPOSE OF CHILD-FEEDING PROGRAMS; WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT FOOD; SETTING GOALS TO FIT YOUR COMMUNITY; SOME GENERAL RULES FOR TEACHING; WORKING WITH MOTHERS OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN; AND TEACHING CHILDREN IN SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMS. IT IS FELT THAT THE NUTRITION EDUCATION WHICH GRASS ROOTS WORKERS PROVIDE MAY HAVE A MORE LASTING EFFECT AND MAY DO AS MUCH FOR THE PREVENTION OF MALNUTRITION AS THE ACTUAL FOODS CONTRIBUTED, IMPORTANT AS THESE ARE TO THE HEALTH OF THE MOTHERS AND CHILDREN RECEIVING THEM.
