Abstract
After a brief introduction, Chapter II provides a conceptual overview of the cross-border trading system, describing the specific roles and interactions of the economic agents typically involved in the system. The transportation system utilized for this trade is the focus of Chapter III, which addresses the routes, costs, and types of conveyance employed. Chapter IV describes and analyzes the means of finance of trade, while the government regulations controlling or impeding trade are addressed in Chapter V. Initial estimates of both official and unofficial trade volume are given in Chapter VI. Finally, in Chapter VII, the report discusses the implications of its research results for the more extensive work to be carried out during Phase II.
