FY 1979 cash transfer

Economic Support Fund assistance program to Israel for FY 1979 consists of a cash transfer of $785,000 - a grant of $525,000 and a loan of $260,000 - to help Israel meet its civilian balance of payments requirements.

Abstract

Because of the difficulties which the Government of Israel has encountered in using available Commodity Import Program (CIP) funds, as of the present program the CIP is eliminated as a co-source of U.S. assistance to Israel, which will from now on take the form of cash transfers only.
