Grant to the International Union for Child Welfare (IUCW) to reforest 14, 000 feddans of land in Sudan"s Northern Kordofan Province with income-producing gum arabic trees.

Abstract
IUCW will help the local Forestry Department and 5, 600 local farmers plant about 3 million seedlings which will reconstitute the forests and help stabilize soil movement in the area. The project will also refurbish four tree nurseries and help make them suppliers of seedlings. The project will complement efforts by the World Bank and the European Economic Community.
