Abstract
The project also seeks to strengthen the Ministry of Agriculture and private producer associations to provide essential support services to the private agricultural sector. The project consists of several components, including the provision of long and short-term technical assistance, the establishment of a divestiture facilitation fund, the provision of fertilizer to farmers through the Grenada Cocoa Association and the Grenada Banana Cooperative Society, the creation of a pest management unit in the Ministry of Agriculture, and the rehabilitation of St. George's central market facilities. The project is expected to have a positive impact on the agricultural sector in Grenada, leading to increased productivity, improved market access, and enhanced competitiveness. The project will be implemented over a period of 18 months, with a total budget of $1,964,000 in grant funds. The project will be managed by the Ministry of Agriculture, with technical assistance provided by international experts.
