Abstract
The initiative's geographic focus was on Eastern Province, where the majority of Rwanda's agricultural production takes place. The program's timeframes were divided into three phases: planning and implementation (2018-2020), midterm evaluation (2020), and final evaluation (2022). Recommendations for future initiatives included scaling up the program to other provinces, increasing support for irrigation infrastructure, and enhancing market access for smallholder farmers. The program's impact was measured through a combination of quantitative and qualitative indicators, including crop yields, household income, and food security status. The results showed significant improvements in agricultural productivity, household income, and food security, indicating the program's effectiveness in addressing the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in Rwanda.
