Abstract
Additional guidelines will be produced as new needs are perceived, but the current compilation includes the following titles: (1) "An Approach to Furnishing Industrial Extension Services to Small-Scale Industry"; (2) "The Generation and Evaluation of Venture Ideas"; (3) "Selection of Appropriate Technology"; (4) "Resource and Technical Analysis"; (5) "Advising the Prospective Entrepreneur on Going into Business"; (6) "A Systematic Approach to Small-Scale Industry Growth"; (7) "The Presentation of Investment Proposals"; (8) "Factors in Plant Layout"; (9) "A Simplified Cost and Control System for Small Industrial Concerns"; (10) "Inventory Control for Small-Scale Manufacturing"; (11) "Production Planning and Control for Small-Scale Manufacturing"; (12) "How to Use a Private Management Consultant"; and (13) "Selected Bibliography". These guidelines address themselves to the most prevalent and most frequently recurring problems that appear to be characteristic of small and medium-size industries regardless of their geographical location. They are generalized to be broadly applicable to companies in developing countries, although it is recognized that they may not be equally applicable to all country situations.
