Abstract
One of the main thrust of district health system strengthening is to improve district health system management. In this context, target setting is a dynamic process and an essential ingredient of effective management for continuous performance improvement to achieve the desired health care outcomes. This guideline provides a brief view of how to set performance targets at district level. This guideline is primarily meant for the district and tehsil level health managers.
