Abstract
The flip chart can be used to talk with groups or individuals by using pictures to encourage discussion and facilitate learning. The health worker can use the flip chart to: (1) start a discussion by showing a picture and asking the participant about her/his experience related to the situation in the drawing; (2) based on the participant response, give information and discuss the issues raised and correct any misinformation; and (3) help participants decide what to do. The facilitator may also support the participant"s decisions by arranging for referral. (Author abstract, modified)
