USAID. MISSION TO HONDURAS
Project, co-project with -0116 and -0117 in the Hurricane Reconstruction and Recovery Program, to provide production credit and a guaranteed marketing mechanism to help farmers on the North Coast of Honduras to offset crop losses caused by Hurricane Fifi.
1974
Abstract
The National Development Bank will implement the project and will disperse credit teams and purchasing agents throughout the disaster area. The credit component will provide funds to individual farmers (with maximum farm size of 50 hectares) and groups of farmers for the production of basic foodstuffs, especially maize, beans, rice, and platano. The grain marketing component will purchase harvested crops to help offset inflationary effects of the storm- caused food shortages.
