Since 1979, the International Livestock Center for Africa (ILCA) has been sending missions to countries in sub-Saharan Africa to collect and microfiche nonconventional literature on livestock.

Abstract
So far, more than 18,000 documents from 25 countries have been collected and microfiched. The present catalogue contains citations of 393 documents from The Gambia. Entries are organized by topic and cover, inter alia, agricultural research, land economics and policies, cooperatives, marketing, plant genetics and breeding, animal husbandry, breeding, feeding, animal genetics, agricultural machinery and equipment, soil fertility, and agricultural wastes. Subject, author, and institution indexes are included. All references have been incorporated in ILCA"s in-house bibliographic database and are accessible on-line. The catalogue is also available as a bibliographic database for those equipped with IBM-compatible minicomputers and CDS/ISIS software.
