Abstract
A brief biological description of the species covers physical and reproductive characteristics. The collection, rearing, and selection of broodstock are described, followed by a discussion of the hormone used to induce breeding, its sources, preparation, and administration. Intramuscular injection of the hormone is illustrated with a photograph, and a chart details dosage requirements. Other important aspects of breeding (i.e., stripping and fertilization, incubation methods, larval rearing, and hatchery management) are also discussed.
